Bio
Raised on Long Island, N.Y., my interest in photography began in my early twenties with a Pentax K1000 single reflex lens camera which quickly grew into a love with many lenses, filters, and a darkroom.
The people, beautiful seasonal landscape changes and being surrounded by different bodies of water provided me with endless chances to capture moments in time that most people never notice. I truly love capturing the essence of a person, the wonderment of a child, the color of early morning light, fog sneaking across the bay, a bird in flight, the long shadows of a late summer afternoon, a colorful sunset or the rising of a full harvest moon. My camera lens lets me capture the things my imagination sees.
For years, my husband and I both worked while raising our family so the camera was only used for family and vacation photos. One by one, our children left for college, or to be on their own leaving just my husband and myself at home. In 2003, we sold our lovely home on Long Island and relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida in hopes of spending more time sailing. For the first couple years, we spent many hours sailing however, being surrounded by so much wildlife and beauty my passion for photography prevailed over sailing.
Several years ago, my husband and friends encouraged me to become a freelance photographer so other people could see the world as I see it through my camera lens. Creating memories and images to last a lifetime has become my full time passion.
